“Deeds of giving are the very foundations of the world.” In this world of materialistic hegemony where each and every person is after fulfilling their material desires, it would be a challenge to find a person possessing a compassionate soul. However, there have always been people who are ready to help the ones in need and instill the joys of love and kindness. They create a ray of hope for the society and help it to channelise in the appropriate direction. Dream Girl Foundation has also played a vital role for the upliftment of the children of our society. Such is the story of a braveheart named Roshan Kumar. Roshan is a 13-year-old young boy who studies in 6th grade. His roots are from Madhubani in Bihar. Roshan’s father is a farmer by profession and earns a meagre amount of 6000 rupees per month. His father has two kids and it becomes extremely difficult for him to run the family on a such a meagre amount. Roshan’s family is poverty stricken but the conditions got worsed when Roshan found a big bump on his neck. The doctors in Bihar had diagnosed him with tuberculosis and it became extremely difficult for his family to fund for the medications. However, medicines for TB was given to Roshan but his condition started to deteriorate day by day. The family had brought Roshan to All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, Delhi where Roshan was diagnosed with tumour. This news hit Roshan’s family like a thunderclap and they became extremely anxious. AIIMS doctors had asked the family to go for CT Scan and starting the treatment immediately. Since AIIMS is always bustling with patients it was discovered that there was no date for the CT Scan for next two months. Then they rushed him to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where the doctors diagnosed Roshan and said that his entire treatment would incur a hefty amount of about 1.7 lakhs. Kumar’s family had already spent a hefty amount of 5 lakhs for his treatment which they could allocate by selling all their property and they were left with no money to continue his treatment. Roshan needed immediate medications and his family was going through a lot of financial strain. However, with the support of organisations such as Dream Girl Foundation Roshan’s medication was funded. Many pious people came ahead to donate for his treatment and tried their level best to bring back the lost smile on his face and helped the brave soul stand on his feet. It is because of such noble humans, young souls like Roshan could triumph the battle. Roshan is now in good health and is ready to chase the world with his creative endeavours. Roshan is an epitome of courage and valour and has thus been successful in winning the battle. The greatest joy lies in the essence of sharing, kindness and compassion. Thus, in order to give meaning to others life, one must practice compassion. Little act of kindness could make the world more beautiful and a better place to live in. Keep spreading smiles and embrace the lives of the ones in need. “Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.”-Mother Teresa
Fear is a prison but Hope is Freedom
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” -Oscar Wilde In today’s world, the essence of love, compassion and charity are of greatest importance. There are many people around us who have the means and resources and want to help in order to create a better world for others. Especially, children when they are affected with the massive disease and all their dreams and abilities come to an end, pious and kind-hearted souls like you come to their rescue and show them the ray of hope. Such is the story of a young soul named Mehak. Mehak a young girl of six years had been diagnosed with Metastatic Ewing sarcoma/PNET in June 2017. While playing with her friends she suddenly fell down. Her parents took her to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She also went through various MRI scans and operation post which she was finally diagnosed with a bone tumour. Mehak had also gone through six cycles of VIDE chemotherapy which initially incurred a hefty amount of Rupees 10 Lakhs for Mehek’s parents. Not only this, there was an urgent need for a High dose of Chemotherapy with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant which required a lump sum amount of Rupees 4 to 5 Lakhs. In addition to this, her bone transplantation which had already begun from 24th January 2018 required a fortnight to complete the process. Mehak’s father Mr. Ajay Dogra works at an export company and hence it was extremely difficult for him to bear the entire expenditure. Mehak stays at Aya Nagar, New Delhi with her parents and sister. It was then that the family approached the Dream Girl Foundation, and we without further ado jumped in straight away to help Mehek and her family in these times of crisis. With the help of the humble donors, we were able to finance the fees for all the necessary processes for the treatment of Mehek’s problem. Thus Dream Girl Foundation played a significant role in finding donors for this young child who was able to liberate herself from the shackles of poverty and bring back the bright smile on her face. We have a firm belief that if more and more people like you come together we could help more children like Mehak and thus provide them with a better future. Mehak and her family is really grateful for all your help. Keep spreading smiles and embrace the lives of the ones in need! “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” -Mother Teresa
It always seems impossible, until it’s done.
Our Dream Girl Foundation is meant to help underprivileged; the ones who are financially weak and don’t have access to any facility. Our Organisation is created for this noble cause and the members of our team work selflessly day and night to help poor people. We believe that happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give. And therefore It is our pleasure to inform you that our NGO in Gurgaon, DREAM GIRL FOUNDATION has successfully sponsored the 4 chemotherapies of Naitik which costed around Rs. 2-3 Lacs. It was one stormy night in November 2016 when Naitik, Son of Bharam Singh and Chandini Singh got excruciatingly feverish. Since Naitik’s father was an alcoholic and unemployed, Chandni alone took Naitik to Saroj Hospital, Rohini. Doctors kept running tests for more than a month and found out the possibility of blood cancer. From there Naitik was transferred to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where it was confirmed that he was suffering from Blood Cancer. This news shattered Singh’s family. They had very little money left as all their savings had exhausted in admitting Naitik in those two hospitals and getting all the tests done. But our NGO, Dream Girl Foundation came to Naitik’s rescue despite being aware of the fact that we didn’t have enough funds and resources. At one point Dr. Anupam Sachdeva of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital who is currently treating Naitik even said that every moment Naitik is not getting his chemotherapy done, he is inching towards death. The doctors at the hospital were worried that Naitik might not make it. But today Naitik’s treatment is progressing. And this is due to the immense efforts and support of Donors like you only that today we are sharing yet another success story of the boy named Naitik. Today many children are treated and fully cured with the help of our NGO which is supported by donors like you. We really feel proud and privileged that in our country we have people who care for such needy children. Let’s keep working together by continuing to support our cause for which we care so much. “To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.” ― Abraham Lincoln
Donation saved my life. Was it yours?
It is our pleasure to inform you that Ravya’s bone marrow has been successfully transplanted in Shri Gangaram Hospital because of your generous donation. We are also very proud to tell you that your donation was part of Rs.20lac that helped Ravya survive. Earlier, Ravya was very sick and was frequently vomiting. Her father Omkar Prasad took her to a hospital in Ahmadabad. He then came to know that her daughter needs immediate bone marrow transplantation. Since those services were not available in Ahmadabad Mr. Omkar brought Ravya to Shri Gangaram Hospital, Delhi. Due to lack of funds, Mr. Omkar contacted us. We started to put our hearts and souls, the moment we heard, because like you, we also could not bear Mr. Omkar’s helplessness and wanted to help him. Your donation helped bring Ravya back from the mouth of death. Ravya’s blood platelet count has reached above 150,000 from just 6000 and blood hemoglobin has reached above 12.5 gpd from just 3.1 gpd. Had you and many other people like you, not helped her, she probably would not have made it. Once again we would like to thank you for your great work and we hope you continue helping people like Mr. Omkar and Kids like Ravya. ‘We rise by lifting others’ Discharge Summary of Ravya
And A Miracle Was Made To Happen
When Prashant was taken to a local doctor in Bihar by his father, he had no clue what was to come next. He then made a journey, from Bihar to Delhi and in delhi from AIIMS to Safdarjung hospital and later to Gangaram hospital when the parents of the 7 year old kid were told that the treatment he required should be quick and effective. Prashant’s father, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar had no idea that how he would be able to help his son out of the misery and pain with a huge amount of 10 lakhs to be arranged in hand. After multiple tests, it was clear that Prashant was suffering from cervical lymphadenitis, which could be cured by a bone marrow transplant. With the help of people who keep the happiness of others in mind as well and with the dedication of volunteers at DGF, we were successful in arranging the amount and helped a child to come back to life. Prashant’s family is more than happy now knowing that there child can again lead a normal life. It’s never too late to take a step forward towards helping the mankind. We are taking that step every day, trying to help out people in need and spreading smiles.
Rohit Got Success -10 Jan,2017
“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” – Charles Dickens This quote by Charles Dickens very well explains that how much we need each other’s as humans, and how useful we can be for each other. We at DGF walk on a similar road by making us useful and also give a chance to others so that they can also do their part for the same. Today, let us once more discuss the story of a child, who got a new life because people made themselves useful and lifted up the burden off a saddened father and a hopeless son. Rohit, a 13 year old child, was suffering from nerve blockage. We can very well understand, how serious this problem could be and how painful for both, a 13 year old boy and his father, who daily saw his own son suffering from the uneasiness and discomfort. Rohit’s father, Mr. Rajesh, then consulted doctors and the problem which started in January, 2015, was diagnosed in August,2015 and Rohit was recommended a Neurosurgery, with an expense of Rs. 1,55,000. For a family like Rohit’s, this huge an amount was very difficult to arrange, but a soul who believed in living for others as well payed the amount of Rs. 60,000, and Rohit was admitted in AIIMS. Now, Dream Girl Foundation came into picture when we were contacted by Rajesh, who has left his job by now to take care of his son. We had the task of raising Rs. 90,000 so that Rohit can proceed with his operation, which was due under the supervision of Dr. Pankaj Singh. Children are the building blocks of a nation, and in India, we lose thousands of kids every year to diseases and poverty. It is an important responsibility that we all should take, so that at least a part can be done which can prove to be useful towards the upliftment of the society. As we say, “drop by drop, fills the pot”, we, at DGF, filled the pot, drop by drop, and were successful in raising the Rs. 90,000 for Rohit’s surgery. It was a great achievement in the history of Dream Girl Foundation, as we succeeded in giving a new life to a kid and saved a father from the guilt he was drowning himself into for not being able to do enough for his son. A smile is all that matters. That smile is out strength and that smile is our riding power.
